The Free Gift of Eternal Life

2000 years ago God visited this Earth in the person of the Messiah of Israel.  The Messiah is the infinite God-Man (100% God and 100% Man).  He did this because everyone sinned and broke His laws.  This means that everyone deserves the punishment of death (hades/sheol/hell).  Instead of punishing us, which is what we deserve, He decided to become a man and take our punishment for us.

The Messiah, God in the flesh, became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins when He was crucified on the cross.  Our part is to stop thinking that we deserve eternal life and to start trusting the sacrifice that the Messiah made.  When we truly trust what He did and what his sacrifice means, then we receive eternal life in Heaven.

Accepting the gift of eternal life means that your life is changed today.  The  following is a walk through some passages in the Bible to help further explain this offer.

1.  Eternal Life is a free gift.- It cannot be earned or deserved.
  • Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
  • Romans 6:23  "...the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

2.  Man is a Sinner. - Everyone has broken God's laws.
  • Romans 3:23  "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
  • Romans 3:10  "There is none righteous, no, not one."
  • 1 John 3:4  "Sin is the transgression of the law."

3.  God is love, but he is also just. - Because we have sinned, we deserve God's punishment.

     Even though God is love....

  • 1 John 4:8  "...God is love."

  • Jeremiah 31:3  "...I have loved thee with an everlasting love."

...He is also just and must punish us.

  • Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death..."

  • Exodus 34:7  "God.....will by no means clear the guilty."

4.  The Messiah paid our debt. - God became a man to take our punishment for us.

The Messiah is God in the Flesh.  The infinite God-Man.

  • John 1:1 & 14  "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  . . . And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

    The Messiah took our punishment.

  • Isaiah 53:6 "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all."

  • John 3:16  "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

5.  The free gift is received by faith. - We need to stop trusting ourselves and start trusting the Messiah.
  • Acts 16:31  "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and thou shalt be saved."

If you have not trusted the Messiah for eternal life, we urge you to do so today.
