Primary Verses:
- Num. 18:8-11
-
"And
the LORD spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also have given
thee the charge of mine heave offerings of all the
hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee
have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to thy
sons, by an ordinance for ever.
This shall be thine of
the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every
oblation of theirs, every meat offering of theirs, and
every sin offering of theirs, and every trespass
offering of theirs, which they shall render unto me,
shall be most holy for thee and for thy sons. In the
most holy place shalt thou eat it; every male shall eat
it: it shall be holy unto thee. And this is thine; the
heave offering of their gift, with all the wave
offerings of the children of Israel: I have given them
unto thee, and to thy sons and to thy daughters with
thee, by a statute for ever: every one that is clean in
thy house shall eat of it."
- Lev. 10:12-15
-
"And
Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar
and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat
offering that remaineth of the offerings of the LORD
made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the
altar: for it is most holy:
And ye shall eat it in the holy place, because
it is thy due, and thy sons' due, of the sacrifices of
the LORD made by fire: for so I am
commanded. And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall
ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy
daughters with thee: for they be thy due, and thy sons'
due, which are given out of the sacrifices of peace
offerings of the children of Israel. The heave shoulder
and the wave breast shall they bring with the offerings
made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering
before the LORD; and it shall be thine, and thy sons'
with thee, by a statute for ever; as the LORD hath
commanded."
Supporting Verses:
- Ex. 29:26-28
-
"And thou shalt take the breast
of the ram of Aaron's consecration, and wave it for a
wave offering before the LORD: and
it shall be thy part.
And thou shalt sanctify the breast of the wave offering,
and the shoulder of the
heave offering, which is waved,
and which is heaved up, of the ram of the consecration,
even of that which is for Aaron, and of that which is
for his sons: And it
shall be Aaron's and his sons' by a statute for ever
from the children of Israel: for it is
an heave offering: and it shall be an heave offering
from the children of Israel of the sacrifice of their
peace offerings, even their heave offering unto the LORD."
- Lev. 7:30-34
-
"His own hands shall bring the
offerings of the LORD made by fire, the fat with the
breast, it shall he bring, that the breast may be waved
for a wave offering before the LORD. And the priest
shall burn the fat upon the altar: but the breast shall
be Aaron's and his sons'.
And the right shoulder shall ye give unto the
priest for an heave offering of the sacrifices of your
peace offerings. He among the sons of
Aaron, that offereth the blood of the peace offerings,
and the fat, shall have the right shoulder for his
part. For the wave breast and the heave shoulder have I
taken of the children of Israel from off the sacrifices
of their peace offerings,
and have given them unto Aaron the priest and
unto his sons by a statute for ever from
among the children of Israel."
- Num. 6:20
- Num. 18:26-29
-
"Thus
speak unto the Levites, and say unto
them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes
which I have given you from them for your inheritance,
then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the
LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.
And this your heave offering shall be reckoned unto you,
as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as
the fulness of the winepress. Thus ye also shall offer
an heave offering unto the LORD of all your tithes,
which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall
give thereof the LORD'S heave offering to Aaron the
priest. Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every
heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof,
even the hallowed part thereof out of it."
- Deut. 18:3
-
"And
this shall be the priest's due from the people,
from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or
sheep; and they shall
give unto the priest the shoulder, and
the two cheeks, and the maw."
