Primary Verses:
- Ex. 27:21
-
"In the tabernacle of the
congregation without the vail,
which is before the
testimony, Aaron and
his sons shall order it from evening to morning before
Yehovah: it shall be a statute for ever
unto their generations on the behalf of the children of
Israel."
-
Lev. 24:3-8
-
"Without the vail of the
testimony, in the
tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it
from the evening unto the morning before YHVH
continually: it shall be a statute for
ever in your generations. He shall order the lamps upon
the pure candlestick before YHVH continually. And thou
shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof:
two tenth deals shall be in one cake. And thou shalt
set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table
before YHVH. And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon
each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial,
even an offering made by fire unto YHVH. Every sabbath
he shall set it in order before Yehovah continually,
being taken from the children of Israel by an
everlasting covenant."
Supporting Verses:
- Num. 3:38
-
"But those that encamp before
the tabernacle toward the east, even before the
tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be
Moses, and Aaron and
his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the
charge of the children of Israel; and
the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death."
-
Num. 18:1-5
-
"And YHVH said unto Aaron,
Thou and thy sons and
thy father's house with thee shall bear the iniquity of
the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons
with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of
thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be
joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but
thou and thy sons
with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of
witness. And they shall keep thy
charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they
shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the
altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die. And they
shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the
tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of
the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto
you. And ye shall
keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the
altar: that there be no wrath any more
upon the children of Israel."
