thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites,
and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and

and the judges, which shall be in those
days; And the judges shall make diligent inquisition:
and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath
testified falsely against his brother; Then shall ye do
unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his
brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among
you. And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and
shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among
you."

Jehoshaphat set of
the Levites, and of the priests, and of
the chief of the fathers of Israel,
for the judgment of
YHVH, and for controversies, when they returned to
Jerusalem. And he charged them, saying,
Thus shall ye do in the fear of YHVH, faithfully, and
with a perfect heart. And what cause soever shall come
to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities,
between blood and blood, between law and commandment,
statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that
they trespass not against YHVH, and so wrath come upon
you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not
trespass."
-
Eze. 44:21-24
-
"Neither shall any priest drink
wine, when they enter into the inner court. Neither
shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her that is
put away: but they shall take maidens of the seed of the
house of Israel, or a widow that had a priest before.
And they shall teach
my people the difference between the holy and profane,
and cause them to discern between the unclean and the
clean. And in controversy they shall stand in judgment;
and they shall judge it according to my judgments:
and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine
assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths."
