Numbers 16:46-50
-
"And Moses said unto Aaron, Take
a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and
put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation,
and make an atonement for them: for
there is wrath gone
out from YHVH; the plague is begun. And
Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of
the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun
among the people: and
he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people.
And he stood between the dead and the living;
and the plague was
stayed. Now they that died in the
plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside
them that died about the matter of Korah. And Aaron
returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of
the congregation: and the plague was stayed."

"So
YHVH sent a pestilence upon Israel
from the morning even to the time appointed: and there
died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy
thousand men. And when the angel stretched out his hand
upon Jerusalem to destroy it, YHVH repented him of the
evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people,
It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of YHVH
was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite.
And David spake unto YHVH when he saw the angel that
smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I
have done wickedly: but these sheep,
what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be
against me, and against my father's house. And Gad came
that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an
altar unto YHVH in the threshingfloor of Araunah the
Jebusite. And David, according to the saying of Gad,
went up as YHVH commanded. And Araunah looked, and saw
the king and his servants coming on toward him: and
Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on
his face upon the ground. And Araunah said, Wherefore
is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said,
To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an altar
unto YHVH, that the plague may be stayed from the
people. And Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the
king take and offer up what seemeth good unto him:
behold, here be oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing
instruments and other instruments of the oxen for wood.
All these things did Araunah, as a king, give unto the
king. And Araunah said unto the king, YHVH thy God
accept thee. And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I
will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I
offer burnt offerings unto YHVH my God of that which
doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor
and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver."

"And when Jesus was entered into
Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching
him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of
the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto
him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered
and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come
under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant
shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having
soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he
goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my
servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
When Jesus heard it,
he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I
say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not
in Israel. And I say unto you, That
many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit
down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom
of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be
cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and
gnashing of teeth. And Jesus said unto the centurion,
Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done
unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame
hour."

Matthew 9:27-31

"And when Jesus departed thence,
two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son
of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into
the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith
unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They
said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes,
saying, According to
your faith be it unto you. And their
eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them,
saying, See that no man know it. But they, when they
were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that
country."
