Hi, and welcome to Answereth a Matter.
This is a site designed to help assist in biblical
study. Everything written on this site is for
the purpose of building up believers in the Messiah
of
Israel. I would not consider my opinions to be
mainstream, but please do not let that discourage
you from using Answereth a Matter as a study tool.
Proverbs 18:13 states, "He that
answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly
and shame unto him." This verse shows the need
to be willing to listen to anything, especially if
we have never heard it before. This does not
mean we must believe it, but we do need to consider
the matter before we answer it. The New
Testament echoes this statement in 1 Thess. 5:21
where the Apostle Paul says, "Prove (test) all
things; hold fast that which is good." Believers
in the Messiah are supposed to have an open mind.
Much of the site is dedicated to the Hebrew
background of scripture. Many times we forget that the Messiah was
Hebrew (from the tribe of Judah) and practiced Hebrew Law.
Believers today tend to take God's
law
for granted and believe it is no longer relevant for today. This
is simply not true and a very unfortunate belief. God's law was
written for our benefit and it is good for us (Deut. 6:24). Not
practicing God's law can actually do us harm. The Bible is a life
instruction manual and God's laws are the instructions. God told
us exactly how He expects us to act, but many times we don't want to
listen. Of course, practicing God's law in no way removes grace or
faith, but rather, faith "establishes" God's law (Rom. 3:31).
If you have never considered practicing the Law of God I would strongly encourage you to look into it. One benefit from practicing God's law is mentioned in Psalm 111:10 where the Psalmist states, "a good understanding have all they that do his commandments." If you want to understand the scriptures you need to start "doing his commandments." James confirms this when he said, "be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves" (James 1:22). We are only deceiving ourselves if we reject the Law of God. Search this site with an open mind and see if God's law is right for you. Check the references and challenge them to see if they are true. The articles I have written are simply my opinions about a biblical topic. Please feel free to contact me if you feel I am in error over anything.
