Psalms 18:47
-
Psalms 94:1-2
-
"O
Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom
vengeance belongeth, shew thyself. Lift
up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to
the proud."
-
Jeremiah 11:19-20
-
"But I was like a lamb or an ox
that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that
they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us
destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut
him off from the land of the living, that his name may
be no more remembered. But, O LORD of hosts, that
judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the
heart, let me see thy
vengeance on them: for unto thee have I
revealed my cause."
-
Jeremiah 20:10-12
-
"For I heard the defaming of
many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will
report it. All my familiars watched for my halting,
saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall
prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on
him. But YHVH is with me as a mighty terrible one:
therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall
not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they
shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall
never be forgotten. But, O LORD of hosts, that triest
the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart,
let me see thy
vengeance on them: for unto thee have I
opened my cause."
-
Jeremiah 46:9-10
-
"Come up, ye horses; and rage,
ye chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the
Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and
the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.
For this is the day
of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he
may avenge him of his adversaries: and
the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made
drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a
sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates."
-
Ezekiel 25:12-17
-
"Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah
by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and
revenged himself upon them; Therefore thus saith the
Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom,
and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make
it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by
the sword. And I
will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people
Israel: and they shall do in Edom
according to mine anger and according to my fury; and
they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD. Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Because the Philistines have dealt
by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful
heart, to destroy it for the old hatred; Therefore thus
saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand
upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims,
and destroy the remnant of the sea coast. And I will
execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes;
and they shall know that I am YHVH, when I shall lay my
vengeance upon them."
-
Nahum 1:2
-
"God is jealous, and
YHVH revengeth; YHVH
revengeth, and is furious; YHVH will take vengeance on
his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath
for his enemies."
-
Romans 12:17-19
-
"Recompense to no man evil for
evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If
it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably
with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves,
but rather give place
unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will
repay, saith the Lord."
-
1 Thessalonians 4:6
-
2 Thessalonians 1:4-9
-
"So that we ourselves glory in
you in the churches of God for your patience and faith
in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye
endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous
judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the
kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
Seeing it is a
righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to
them that trouble you; And to you who
are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be
revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming
fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and
that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who
shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the
presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;"
-
Hebrews 10:29-30
-
"Of how much sorer punishment,
suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden
under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of
the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy
thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
For we know him that hath said,
Vengeance belongeth
unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again,
The Lord shall judge his people."
